Where do your materials come from?
All our alpaca and sheep wool is sourced directly from our farm, Prema Alpacas. We breed and raise our animals with care, ensuring the highest quality fiber while maintaining ethical and sustainable farming practices.
How are your products made?
Our products are handmade by Nicole, our fiber artist, who uses traditional techniques like hand-spinning and wet felting. We also collaborate with a local cottage mill to produce some of our alpaca goods, ensuring each item is crafted with attention to detail and quality.
What sustainable practices do you follow?
We are committed to sustainability in every aspect of our operations. We harvest solar energy, collect rainwater, and repurpose waste water to irrigate our fruit trees. Unused fiber is recycled as garden mulch or insulation, aligning with our permaculture principles.
How should I care for my alpaca products?
Alpaca fiber is delicate yet durable. We recommend hand washing your items in cold water with a gentle detergent, then laying them flat to dry. Avoid twisting or wringing the fabric to maintain its shape and softness.
Why are your products priced as they are?
Our pricing reflects the time, care, and skill involved in creating each product, as well as our commitment to sustainable and ethical practices. Each piece is a unique, handmade item crafted from high-quality, farm-grown materials.
Are your products hypoallergenic?
Yes, alpaca fiber is naturally hypoallergenic and free from lanolin, making it a great choice for those with sensitive skin.
